Silver City Ghost Town

Silver City
Ghost Town

Location: Bodfish, Ca.
Date: March / 2010
Findings: undetermined

The Silver City Historic ghost town located  in Bodfish Ca. near lake Isabella, was a total step back in time. The old buildings were many & the feeling of the old west was evident. After we set up our DVR with a few IR cameras, POST started the Investigation in what is believed to be the oldest building, called the Burlando house. For the Investigation we used a couple EMF gauges & an ambient temperature gauge, as well as an IR video camera & a full spectrum video camera. We took over nine hundred still pictures with a full spectrum camera & of course several digital voice recorders were utilized as well. The next stop was the old jail house. We spent a good amount of time in this building as it was the only location with that “weird vibe” to it. We also checked out the “wormy Annie” house & the old church building which had a cool bell that still rang out when the rope was pulled. We spent a little time in the front  store which has a lot of old artifacts for sell. The store building  has had  some reported activity of lights turning off & on and some objects that report ably  moved on there own. All & all it was a fun & exiting Investigation but we were not able to document any type of Paranormal activity or support any of the claims that have been made. This conclusion could have been due to the fact that we were limited in time during the investigation & the heavy winds that contaminated our audio recorders. Another Investigation of this Ghost Town is very possible in the near future. In closing , if you have any interest in stepping back in time to view what the old towns of yester year were like, this is one place you should visit. Many thanks to J. Corlew & his Silver City ghost Town.

    Hello P.O.S.T,
I am the founder of Lake Isabella Paranormal Society, and I wanted to add a note to your blog about Silver City. We have investigated Silver City on several ocassions and came up with many pieces of evidence. The main 3 buildings that have the most activity to them are the Burlando House, Wormie Annies and the Jail. The evidence that we got the most activity is the jail and Wormie Annies. We will be planning another investigation soon with the group Antelope Valley Haunts. We would love to have you join us.

I visited Silver City during my last trip to California. We went right before sunset and let me tell you once we got to the jail I could feel the hairs pop up on the back of my neck. The entire place was pretty spooky and haunted if you ask me all in all it was a good time but next time I am going to make sure I bring my flashlight with me, as the sun was setting it was hard to see once inside the buildings which is what I think scared me the most. Hope you have better luck there next time I do think there is something paranormal going on there.
