Bakersfield Hotel - Confidential

POST was contacted by a local Bakersfield Hotel that has had some unexplainable events happen for the last year or so. The Location of the Hotel will be kept confidential. The claims of this hotel have been so rash that the Police have been called out in an attempt to quell some of the occupants who have stayed in a particular room. On several occasions people who have stayed in this room have left during the middle of the night saying - “there’s something going on in that room”. Several male occupants who have rented the room have been said to “freak out” during there short stay. One particular night a male occupant who rented this room locked & barricaded his self in the room, fearing the Hotel staff were going to kill him. He then stated that a dead woman was in his bathtub. This individual was so distraught that the Police were called out. On arrival they searched the room, only to find... Nothing! When the Paramedics arrived they entered the room and claimed to have heard a woman’s voice come from the restroom. When they looked inside no one was present. After a severe storm had passed through Bakersfield the activity spread to different parts of the Hotel. The Hotels staff have witnessed pencils mysteriously rolling across desks & floors. There have been claims of weird unexplained noises coming from the staffs office. On one occasion during the night shift an employee suddenly felt as if someone was breathing down her neck. She tried to ignore what she felt, suddenly an unseen force violently banged on the desk she was standing at, as if demanding her attention. On another occasion an employee heard weird sounds coming from the office, when she stepped inside to investigate the sounds - nothing could be seen. The employee then glanced over at the security monitor & saw the entrance door open , then close of its own accord.
POST conducted the Investigation in January of 2012. All together there were a total of six rooms that had some claims of activity, ranging from objects moving around to an apparition of a little girl being seen. Two of the rooms in question report ably had more activity then the other four. We started off by setting up Full-spectrum cameras in these rooms (218 & 128). We also set up High definition audio recorders as well as motion detectors, EMF detectors, ambient temperature gauges, positive & negative E- field detectors (which pick up any change in static electricity in the environment). Each Team member spent some time alone in room 128, which is the most active room according to the Hotel staff. No tangible evidence was recorded in this room, however it had an extremely different feel then the other rooms in question. The air felt overly thick & heavy. At times it felt almost hard to breath. We did document a constant 10 degree warmer ambient temperature within room. This could not be explained, all the other rooms were the same as far as temperature readings, with a slight 1 to 2 degree difference. There was also a distinct odor present in 128 which smelled like stale smoke. After about 5 hours into the Investigation we removed the E-field detectors & EMF gauges from room 128 & place a Van de graaff generator in the middle of the room. We let the generator run for about an hour charging the room with Static Electricity, in an attempt to feed any entity that might be present. We then placed our E-Field detectors & EMF gauges back in the room & conducted a passive Investigation, monitoring the room Via Full-spectrum Camera’s & HD audio. Each Team member also spent time alone in room 218, where black masses have been report ably seen. The only thing worth noting in that room was during Mandy’s visit. Mandy entered the room & turned the motion detector toward the wall opposite her, so as not to inadvertently trigger it. She then set completely still on the bed for about 35 minutes, in silence with no noted activity. Then the motion detector which was about 12 inches away from & facing the wall, unexplainably triggered. This event can not be called Paranormal in nature but the question still stands - “why did it trigger”? All and all, no Evidence was captured to support any of the claims & no personal experiences were documented. We recognize the fact that Paranormal activity can not be captured at will or called out upon request, sometimes it takes more then one night to actually find & document proof. POST will conduct another Investigation at this location sometime in the near future. Until then……!!

T.L. Maxwell's

November 2011, POST Investigated the claims of a popular Bakersfield restaurant, T.L. Maxwell's. The restaurant has been open for about 12 years. The owner & his staff have witnessed odd happenings within the building through out the years. In the 1940s, it was occupied by the late Clyde Barbeau, who is credited with installing the semi-circular mahogany bar that remains the restaurant's centerpiece. With the addition of food, The Office became a popular watering hole for judges, lawyers and doctors, many of whom had offices in the adjacent Haberfelde Building. A room below the restaurant was converted into a speakeasy, where card games were the popular attraction. Rumor has it that police officers raided The Office one night & reportedly netted the police chief and mayor. The Office, which closed in the late 1970s, had three other well-known owners, attorney Barney Gill, whose office reportedly connected to the restaurant; oil prospector Tom Jones; and Phil Ammenta. It later reopened as the Basque Tradition, Dave's Deli, The Swing, Joe's Place and Frank's Office Bar & Grill. When Maxwell took over the location 12 years ago the stories were just that… stories! Now he feels wholeheartedly that there is more going on in the building then folklore & legend. Some of the claims in this building are of a woman's voice that often calls the owners name. Other times she is heard but the words cant be completely understood. The switching of lights on & off are said to frequently happen as well. An apparition of an old man walking in the storage areas and down the hall have also been seen. The basement area has reports of objects moving on there own & scaffolding inexplicably being rearranged. There are tales of the families who perished in the tunnels below downtown Bakersfield during the fire of 1904. Construction workers also were said to have lost their lives during the earthquake of 1952 in the tunnels that run through out downtown Bakersfield. Recently an unidentified male voice has been heard throughout the restaurant, that can not be accounted for. We Investigated these claims to try & bring some answers to the staff of T.L. Maxwell"s. We began by setting up our Full-Spectrum video cameras throughout the basement & restaurant. We utilized UV-A & Infrared lighting with our cameras. We also used multiple EMF detectors & high definition audio recorders; as well as Full-spectrum photography & ambient temperature gauges. We started or journey in the basement area. We conducted an EMF sweep & utilized a Bug finding device that would pick up on any hidden cameras or audio devices that might try to deceive us. There were no high EM Fields or hidden prank devices that we could find, eliminating the possibility of deception. We heard there might be an old entrance into the underground tunnels that once ran through out downtown Bakersfield. We were unable to find any evidence of this. We went on into the area that once was a speakeasy conducted our sweeps, finding no evidence of Paranormal goings on or high EMF. However in this area Jason & Ryan both heard what sounded like footsteps above them; which sounded like someone walking around in the main dinning area of T.L. Maxwell’s. We all immediately went up stairs to investigate only to find - Nothing or no one. We went on to the banquet area. At one point Mandy said she could hear what sounded like someone talking in the main dinning area behind us. This would be the same area that Jason & Ryan heard the footsteps coming from. However none of that activity was caught on the audio recorders. In short we sweep through the entire building finding no proof to support the claims of Paranormal activity. We do believe the sincerity of Mr. Maxwell & could not find any natural evidence such as hyper sensitivity to EMF. We left this Investigation with only a few personal experiences, that we could not debunk. We will set up another date to Investigate this property & the claims within.

STAR of INDIA - Second Investigation

POST first visited the Star of India on Saturday, April 2011. We were fortunate enough to document some really good evidence during that trip & we feel it was paranormal in nature. We set up a return visit to this Historical Ship to see if we could debunk any of the evidence we previously captured as well as document any other activity. We arrived 45 minutes early & set up the usual equipment. We then split up into two teams, one team headed down to the lower decks while the other team stayed top side & focused on the Captains Lodge. We tried to debunk the burst of light we had caught from our first visit (see videos page) but could not find any logical explanation as to the source. As for the motion sensors triggering, we were unable to find any reason why this had occurred during our previous Investigation. We spent the remainder of our time on the Star of India without any personal experiences. As far as any new evidence… we captured none. The paranormal world that we have brief encounters with is not subject to our beckoning call & you truly have to be at the right place at the right time. However we were unable to debunk our previous evidence. So… the sudden burst of light in midair, the motion detectors triggering in an empty room & the EVP’s we captured from our first visit, all still stand as solid evidence of paranormal phenomena. So if you are ever in the area of San Diego, we highly recommend a visit to the Star of India, who knows maybe you too can experience a glimpse of the other side…..!!

Star of India

The Star of India, located at the San Diego Maritime Museum in San Diego California, is the world’s oldest active sailing ship. Built at the Ramsey Shipyard in the Isle of Man in 1863, she was first launched five days before Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.
During the Star of India’s maiden voyage (at that time she bore the name Euterpe) , she experienced a collision and a mutiny. During her long and eventful service, the ship went aground in Hawaii, was trapped in ice in Alaska, and sailed around the world twenty-one times, with some of her voyages lasting up to a year. Through historical ships records, P.O.S.T was able to identify at least 25 deaths of passengers, crew members, and officers aboard the Star of India, including her first captain, Captain William Story who was buried at sea.
In April of 2011, P.O.S.T. was proud to perform an investigation of this beautiful and historic ship. During the day, a walk-through of the ship was provided by San Diego Maritime Museum Events General Manager Jim Davis, where he gave us a history of the ship and showed us the locations of reported paranormal activity. That evening, the museum security staff locked us aboard the Star of India and we proceeded to setup our equipment for the night’s investigation.
In the Captain’s Quarters/Galley where the majority of the activity has been reported, we setup a full-spectrum camera with IR/UV floodlight, a high definition audio recorder, an EMF data-logger, and two PIR motion detectors. We covered the entire tween deck using two IR cameras with audio microphones, and the third deck was equipped with another full-spectrum camera/UV illuminator along with a laser-grid located near the bow end of the ship, and a another IR camera located at the aft end of the ship in the workshop area. In addition to the statically placed equipment, we carried with us a variety of equipment while we investigated the ship including, two full-spectrum camcorders, two Sony night-vision camcorders, two high definition Sony audio recorders, two full-spectrum digital still cameras, Trifield and Mel EMF meters, a digital thermometer, and various IR and UV illuminators.
During the investigation, two of our investigators had a personal experience, at two separate times. They both witnessed a light that appear to travel down the center of the tween deck. The light did not appear to be a reflection on any surface, but appeared to travel in free space down the center of the deck. Unfortunately, these two personal experiences were not captured by any of our equipment.
But upon review of the data collected during our investigation, we did capture some interesting and compelling evidence of possible paranormal activity aboard the Star of India.
During an EVP session in the Captain’s Quarters/Galley area, one of the investigators asks the question, “What is your name?” which is followed immediately by a class “B” EVP of a male voice that says “Matthew”. Upon further research of the Star of India’s historical records, it was found that there were at least six people with a first or last name of “Matthew” that spent time aboard the Star of India either as passengers or crew members.
But by far the most interesting evidence we collected during our investigation was an event that occurred in the Captain’s Quarters/Galley area that was captured and observed by three separate and different types of investigative equipment, a full-spectrum camera, a PIR motion detector, and a high definition audio recorder. In the video clip (located on our "video's" page) you will see a light “form” near the wall and next to the door of the Captain’s Quarters, this is followed approximately 12 seconds later with the motion detector alarm triggering, which is followed a few seconds later with a class “B” EVP that appears to say “Not Their Time”.
There were several other EVPs that we captured during the investigation that were thrown out because they were either class “C” EVPs or we could not eliminate the possibility of outside audio contamination.
We would like to thank the San Diego Maritime Museum and all of its crew for their generosity and hospitality. P.O.S.T. is planning a return trip to the Star of India. This was truly an awesome site & if you are ever in the area we recommend a visit to the San Diego Maritime Museum and all of their beautiful and historic maritime ships and displays.

Whaley House

The Whaley House

In April of 2011, P.O.S.T Investigated the many claims of paranormal events at the Whaley house. Located in the historic lamplight district of old town San Diego Ca. The Whaley house is over 150 years old. Built in 1857 by Thomas Whaley it served many uses such as San Diego’s first commercial theater, granary, general store & court house. The first documented death on the property took place before the home was built. A man known as “Yankee Jim” was hung from the neck until dead. It is believed Yankee Jim did not break his neck in the initial fall. It is said that he slowly strangled to death as his feet tip toed the ground, while struggling to hold on to his last moments of life. One of Thomas Whaley’s daughters named “Violet” committed suicide on the property. Due to a sour marriage & hart brake she shot her self with her fathers gun & passed away within the home. There have been reported sightings throughout the years of Apparitions including Thomas him self. The spirit of a little girl supposedly hangs out in the kitchen where There has been claims of objects moving around. Claims of ghostly dogs have been reported on the property as well . Not to mention the many photos that have been circulated. So we set out to see what we can find. We began our Investigation by setting up 3 stationary IR cameras & 2 stationary full-spectrum cameras. We also used 2 hand held full-spectrum camcorders, 1 Sony night shot camcorder, 3 high definition audio recorders, several temperature gauges, as well as several EMF gauges & over 400 full-spectrum still photos were taken through out the night. We started out in the old court house then moved on through out the home. The first thing we noticed was that three of the rooms were sealed off by Plexiglas windows. We did have access into these rooms during the Investigation but your normal day time visitors do not. The Plexiglas windows could account for some of the past mysterious photos that have surfaced through out the years . These windows could cause lens flair in the photographs, which could be mistaken as light anomalies or “orbs”. There is one famous photo that comes to mind of what seems to be a woman in 1800 attire floating in one of the rooms. That photo can easily be a reflection in the Plexiglas barrier of a guide who gives tours in the house, (they wear clothing from that time period). During the entire Investigation not one of the Team members had any personal experiences. After sifting through all the collected data, we did not find any compelling evidence to support the claims of Paranormal occurrences on this property. There were a couple of audio clips that did catch our attention but we had to dismiss them due to the “outside” noise. We can not, in good faith say the Whaley house is truly Haunted

Confidential Residence - Tehachapi Ca.

Confidential Residence

This investigation took place in a confidential residence , locally situated in Golden Hills and literally just a few short steps away from one of the very first and oldest cemeteries of Tehachapi . The current Homeowners have lived there for about ten years and have raised their Children and Grandchildren there .

P.O.S.T was called in shortly after the Man of the house was awoke one night by an unseen force that was violently strangling him !!! This happened just after the Man rebuked the Spirit that He and His Family felt present within their home. After the Man was locked in His bedroom for several minutes , unable to turn the doorknob using all of His might ; He had just about had enough . In His anger and frustration , He rebuked the Spirit , telling it to get out of His house and leave His Family alone … He recalls that His tone of voice and choice of words were very angry . This was the night that He was violently choked out of a dead sleep .Two strange things that accompanied this attack was that whatever choked Him had left two distinct indentations of hand prints on his neck and seconds after the choking had stopped, He felt and heard a large gasp of air in His face .

After this , things did seem to simmer down and the Family went on about their usual routine , yet the feeling of Someone or Something lurking around was always present . On many occasions , their Granddaughter (age 4 or 5 ) at this time , had always brought to Her Grandmothers attention that there was someone else in the house with them . In fact there were many times when the Granddaughter could be heard conversing with someone , but there was never anyone else in the room with Her. When the Grandmother asked the Child about who She was talking to , the Granddaughter said ‘’ The Man’’ .

Knowing that they were the only two in the home at this time , this began to panic and upset the Grandmother . There were many times in which the Family had to take the Granddaughter from room to room showing Her that there was no one else in the home .

Also , strangely enough , the Family dog (Pomeranian) would bark in hysterics at something in the hallway but the cause of this was never found . However at this point , the entire Family was witnessing dark shadows dashing in and out of bedrooms , roaming the halls and even passing through their living room .

One day while the Lady (the Grandmother) of the house was relaxing in the living room , watching TV, She saw a tall , dark shadow come from down the hallway (behind her ) and pass through the living room and enter into their game room . Because Her attention was focused on the TV show , and She had seen this only through Her peripheral vision ; She assumed it was Her Husband and thought nothing strange of it . Until She realized that Her Husband was just stepping out of the shower in the back end of the house . Again , this panicked and upset Her because She knew that they were the only two in the house at this time . Not long after this , the teenage Daughter was walking down the hallway on Her way to Her bedroom when She felt as if Someone or Something was following her, walking right up behind Her and She said that She could even feel the breath on the back of Her neck ! When She reached Her bedroom door , She stopped and quickly spun around in hopes to catch a glimpse of whoever or whatever was following Her; She witnessed a tall , dark mass (similar to the one Her Mother had seen pass through the living room) dart into another room, almost as if it didn’t want Her to see it .

By this time , the Family had dealt with strange noises of different sorts , shadows , doors slamming closed , and a multiple array of paranormal activity . But what is most disturbing is the recent activity that has been taking place in the home . It has became more personal and invasive ; giving many Members of the Family nightmares and scaring them out of their comfort zone. This recent activity, though mostly targeted toward the two teen-aged Girls of the home, has upset the entire household and prompt action was taken when the Family contacted P.O.S.T to schedule an investigation

The first and most recent encounter took place when one of the Daughters ( Jan) ,walked down the hallway and started into the living room when She was stunned in Her tracks by the reflection in the TV (turned off at this time) of a Ghostly Woman sitting on their sofa. The apparition was just sitting there staring at Her hands as if reading a book . Jan vividly remembers specific details about the Ghostly Woman, such as the blue dress with white fringe , the short brown hair and the fact that the Ghostly Woman looked to be in Her mid 20’s to early 30’s . In the blink of an eye , the Apparition had diminished .

Oddly enough , Jan’s Sister Pam was having several sleep disturbances at this time . Pam has reported paralyzed dreams (not being able to move, talk or even flinch in an effort to wake up or break out of the stronghold that is presumed to paralyze Her). These dreams were always accompanied by the strong presence of an unseen force. This happened many times and Pam no longer felt comfortable or safe in Her own bedroom . However the next dream that She had , seemed to put a lot of information together .

In this dream , Pam remembers driving in the car with Her Mother and Sister Jan . They were on their way home and the Mother was talking to Pam about facing the Entity , and telling Pam that She must go face to face and meet with the Spirit .Pam’s Mother kept repeating ’’ you have to do this , you have to do this’’…. Pam , resistant and afraid , couldn’t believe what Her Mother was telling Her to do . After this , they arrive at the house and upon walking into their backyard , both Girls (Jan & Pam) see the Ghostly Woman, (wearing a blue dress with white fringe, short brown hair ,in Her mid 20’s early 30’s) sitting on the grass beneath a tree , reading a book . Pam turns to ask Her Sister if this was the same Woman that She had seen in the TV reflection … Jan nodded Her head ’’yes’’. When the two Girls looked up from one another , The Ghostly Woman locked eyes with Pam and had a sort of angry or disappointed look in Her eyes. The Ghostly Woman began to charge Pam , this made Pam panic and She began taking steps backwards as She was frozen with fear and shock . The Ghostly Woman aggressively started grabbing Pam’s arms and wrists , as if to stop Pam from panicking but Pam was very scared and wanted no part of the Ghostly Woman. As the two tussled , Pam gets the feeling that the Ghostly Woman is angry and upset only because Pam is afraid of Her. Then Pam wakes up (but She is still dreaming) and the Ghostly Woman is sitting next to Her on the bed , again grabbing Pam’s arms and wrists . Pam tries to scream but She realizes that She is paralyzed , after this Pam wakes up.

This dream and the reflection in the TV left the two Girls wondering who this Ghostly Woman was and if maybe perhaps this Ghostly Woman was behind some of the paranormal activity that the Family had been experiencing in their home. But who was the Man that the Granddaughter would see and talk to ?

In February the Family left the house for the night and P.O.S.T launched an investigation into the claims. Through the use of all our equipment ( modified full spec’s , EMF detectors , Carbon dioxide detectors, several stationary cameras with IR & UV lights , and other usual , necessary tools and equipment)

We were unable to add proof or validate any of their claims . We did find extremely high EMF fed out through a fish aquarium pump and because the fish tank and Pam’s bedroom shared a wall , the EMF was so high that it bled through the wall and was detected at a steady 3.0 in the exact spot where Pam would lay Her head each night . Although we found no hard proof evidence of paranormal activity that night , We did have a few questionable and strange personal experiences .

One in the master bedroom where Ryan , Jason and I (Mandy) were doing an EVP session and snapping photos . Ryan looked over at a plant macramé that was made out of small beach shells and witnessed one of the shell covered strings moving in a circular motion . Now what is so strange about this , is that there were many shell covered stings that hung as borders around the macramé, but not all of them were moving , just the one . Because Ryan was standing so close to it , He had to try and recreate this movement , attempting to find the cause. However this bit of activity remains inconclusive . The other personal experience took place in Pam’s room . Just before we started the investigation , the lights had already been turned off and I went into Pam’s bedroom to get the Family dog . I stood in the doorway for several minutes , calling the dog and trying to get Her to come to me . In a flash , I witnessed a small , dull ball of light (low to the ground) shoot out from beside Pam’s bed, pass through the open space between Me and the Dog, then dash down the hallway toward the Master bedroom . My jaw dropped and I stood in disbelief . When I looked back at the dog , I knew that the Dog had seen it too because It grabbed His attention and His sight (as it did mine at the exact moment) and our eyes seemed to follow it together as it left the room . It was an experience that you had to be there to believe and it left Me wishing that I had a camera rolling. End Report

Glen Tavern Inn

The Historic Glen Tavern Inn

located in Santa Paula Ca. The Inn was built in 1911 when Santa Paula was a booming oil town. Its stately design is the work of architects Burns and Hunt, a firm renowned for their monumental properties throughout coastal California. Now a Federal landmark the Inn has lived to tell of the colorful eras and antics spanned by its 100 year history. True to its Wild West beginnings, the hotels 3rd floor once operated as a gambling parlor and house of ill-repute. During Prohibition, a speakeasy was added to these dubious diversions. In Hollywood’s early hey-day the town was a favorite big studio filming location. Stars including John Wayne, Carol Lombard, Harry Houdini and Steve McQueen enjoyed the gracious accommodations and the bar. Claims of Paranormal events at this location have been reported by staff, cleaning personal & guest of this historic site. Staff of the Inn have reported seeing a child who plays in the halls of the 2nd floor & lobby. The piano in the lobby supposedly has played on its own. Several of the rooms have had reports of weird goings on and an apparition has also been seen looking out one of the rooms windows. Another claim is that while the cleaning staff were busy going about there duties, the showers have suddenly turned on by them selves. Shoe laces have been tied together & objects have been moved around after the rooms were once again cleaned & ready to rent. POST conducted an Investigation in February of 2011. Upon arrival , we found that another filming crew had made a last minute decision to book and stay in most of the 2nd floor rooms. However , we were pleased to be able to seclude and section off the third floor , including rooms 306 , 307 and 304 where a lot of paranormal activity is reported to take place. Armed with our modified full spec’s , several digital recorders , EMF/temp gauges , and other necessary equipment ; Investigators Ryan, Mandy, Jason and Don set out to get the full facts . We started in room 306 and worked our way through the 3rd floor. Base readings in every room , including the hallway were extremely high with EMF of a natural or man made source and not paranormal. The entire 3rd floor hall emitted a very strong Electric field, ranging from 3.0 to 59, this reading came from within the old walls as well as from the light fixtures. The EMF reading in room 306 was so strong our trifled meter was basically useless. The area were one would lay their head in room 306 held a constant 3.0 plus. This magnetic field could effect the psych especially if one is sensitive to it. We spent extra time in the area where Calvin , a crooked card dealer was shot to death in the 1920’s . P.O.S.T staged a few games of poker in hopes to drawl the attention of ol’ Calvin but it seems he was not interested or perhaps has moved on. Also , extra time was spent in and around the closet area where a decapitated prostitute was said to be found. That night and into the wee hours of the morning , attempts to make contact with the deceased were made but to no avail. P.O.S.T would like to specially thank Monica who made our stay most pleasant. In conclusion, if you are ever in or around the Santa Paula area P.O.S.T definitely recommends a stay at the Glen Tavern Inn. This beautiful piece of history has plenty to offer including a great Italian restaurant & pleasant service. Who knows, maybe you will run into Ol’ Calvin yourself...... P.O.S.T has been invited back for a second investigation. We hope to find the Inn a little less busier with human activity and booming with the paranormal claims that so many visitors have reported throughout the long lived Glen Tavern Inn. Burro - Schmidt Tunnel

BURRO-Schmidt tunnel
November , 2010

William Henry Schmidt, better known as "Burro" Schmidt, spent 38 years of his life accomplishing the task of hand-drilling a tunnel nearly a half-mile long. Schmidt drilled his entire tunnel with a 4 pound single jack hammer & dynamite. Schmidt was born at Woonsocket, R.I. January 30, 1871, about 17 miles from Providence. He came to California in 1895, worked for two years with the Kern County Land Company, returned home & then in 1900 returned to California for good. Schmidt started his tunnel in 1906 at the age 36. Schmidt didn't stop to explore the veins of copper, gold, and quartz he encountered, he drove straight through. Schmidt accomplished his self-appointed task of burrowing through the mountain at age 68. The digging and hauling of material was completely hand done, filling and pushing the ore cart by hand. Burro Schmidt lived in a small one room cabin with newspaper and magazine clippings on the walls for insulation.
Schmidt had also mined in Last Chance Canyon with friend Walt Bickel on a claim nearby. Burro Schmidt passed on just a few days short of his 82 birthday in 1953. Burro Schmidt’s funeral was held at the tunnel entrance, Walt Bickel was one of the pallbearers. The Schmidt tunnel is now listed as a Historic Site. In his last years, Burro Schmidt gave his interest in the tunnel to Mike Lee who after a few years passed on, and Toni Seegar purchased the claims from the county seat in Bakersfield. Toni moved into mike lee’s cabin in the early 60's. She provided the dusty traveler with a wealth of history on the tunnel and was happy to have a flashlight available for those who had forgotten one. Toni passed away shortly after her 90th birthday in February of 2004.

POST started off the Investigation in the tunnel. We used only hand held equipment & kept it simple for this Investigation. We entered the tunnel with two full-spectrum camcorders, two temperature gauges, two EM detectors, two full-spectrum still picture cameras & one high quality stereo recorder. No personal experiences occurred while in the tunnel & the temperature held at a steady 63 degrees-through out most of the tunnel. We conducted our EVP recordings periodically throughout the tunnel & at one point a slight noise was heard in front of us but we could not find the source & trekked on. When we came to the back of this half mile long tunnel it split off into two directions. The right path led to the exit & the left path went in about 15 to 20 yards; then a sharp 90 degree turn & another 15 to 20 yards to a dead end. When we took the left path the air began to get very thick & still & the temperature reached & held at a steady 65 degrees. The tunnel became more narrow & we had to crouch down to navigate the passage. By the time we reached the end of that path, we were all ready to turn around; the feeling of claustrophobia had sunk its teeth into the team. We exited the tunnel & welcomed the fresh night air. The second part of our Investigation took us to the home built by Mike Lee. We scouted about & attempted to find some signs of paranormal activity; but all we came across was a pair of house finches’ that had taken residence in one of the rooms. The last part of our Investigation led us to the famous Schmidt dwelling. The one room home was very old & dilapidated. Trace’s of how the old miner lived were still present. Old shoes were laying around as was the scattered remains of the magazine covers, that once covered the walls for insulation. The place felt as if it could fall down around us at any minute. When we finally exited the old homestead , we all heard a loud noise on the side of the home, as if someone knocked a metal bucket over. However the source of the sound could not be located & no evidence of wild animals was seen. Although POST uncovered no paranormal activity in this Investigation, It was a complete thrill to visit such a historic site & view the wonders that one man had left behind..!!

The circumstances surrounding this haunting are a little different from our previous Investigations. The residents Pam & boyfriend Jeff feel that the activity they’re experiencing is brought on by Pam’s deceased husband Mark. Mark suddenly & unexpectedly took his own life. The incident happen a few years ago & did not take place at Pam’s current home. In fact, Mark took His life in a secluded field outside of their hometown. However , since the incident , Pam has felt as if Marks presence follows Her where ever She go’s. Claims of unusual knocks & noises have been heard. The feeling of someone lurking around & being watched have also been reported. On several different occasions, when Jeff went to open the front door, he was surprised to find it locked. But when Pam tried the door knob (moments later) it turned with no problem & opened right up. Pam says “as soon as I turned the knob it felt like some one pulled the door open from the inside” . Another shocking & paralyzing claim made by Pam took place while she was taking a walk, pushing her two grand kids in a stroller. Pam said she looked over at a truck that had stopped next to her and was shocked to see her late husband Mark . He was sitting in the drivers seat staring at her and seemed to be very excited to see her again. No words were exchanged between them but Pam says she felt as if the two of them were communicating telepathically and Mark was telling Her ‘’I‘m ok‘’. After a moment , the Passenger leaned over , obstructing the view of Mark and asked Pam for directions ; and the moment was lost . Pam was so frozen with disbelief that She has no memory of what Her response to the Passenger was . The experience happened so quick & left Pam utterly speechless. Pam had yet another personal experience that gave her validation that Mark was still around. One day while feeling a little depressed she thought about going for a ride on her motorcycle. She said out loud “I think I’ll go for a ride”. All of a sudden she had a feeling that she wasn’t alone, she felt as if Mark was near . So she said out loud ‘’Mark if you’re here turn the TV off‘’. To her surprise the TV suddenly turned off. Pam turned the TV back on & sat down. She asked again, ‘’Mark if that was you Turn it off again‘’, and again the TV turned off. Pam then felt she needed to go for that ride….!!
The Investigation took place in November of 2010. The layout of the home was small & comfortable. It consisted of two small homes atop one another. The bottom floor has a small kitchen, one bedroom, one restroom & a cozy living room. The top floor had two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen & a living room. The team went in with hand held Full-Spectrum video cameras, several temperature gauges & several EMF gauges. We also had two audio recorders & a PX box running during the investigation. Several hundred full- spectrum pictures were taken & a full-spectrum stationary camera was set up covering the bottom living room & part of the kitchen. We used a laser grid with this camera. We started in the bottom floor The EM field was normal to low in the kitchen area with no spikes. The overall feeling was comfortable & no personal experiences were had. We moved into the bedroom area. While there, no signs of activity were documented & the EM field was holding at 0.0 mg . After a while we set up camp in the bottom living room. The EM field was again low to zero. The temperature held steady through out the home at 69 degrees. One personal experience we had during the Investigation occurred in the bottom floor living room area. Mandy was attempting to make contact with Pam’s late husband when Ryan suddenly felt a cold chill in the middle of his back. The feeling then spread through out his body. Ryan immediately looked at the ambient temperature gauge & mentally noted a two degree drop in temp, from 69 to 67 degrees. This is not an uncommon drop in temperature. However before Ryan could elaborate on his experience, Mandy all of a sudden said “I feel as if someone is standing in front of me” We chalk this up to personal experience #1. Another personal experience occurred in the upstairs living room. Mandy asked “is there anyone here who would like to be accounted for”. Immediately after that question Ryan & Mandy heard three small knocks come from the front door. We could see that no one walked up the stairs leading to this door. When the door was opened of course no one was around. We did have one strange peace of video that was caught by our stationary Full-Spectrum camera in the lower level - living room. As Mandy started to pray for the late husband the camera caught what looks like a golf ball size light that streaks across the room from left to right. The light starts above a shelf & shoots across the room toward Ryan, at an amazing speed. This light was not seen at the time of the Investigation but found during the review of our evidence. At first we thought that maybe it was a bug or insect of some kind; but bugs do not move that fast & they do not fly in a straight path as this did. We debunked this as being any kind of reflection & the object appears to break the laser grid beams as it moves across the room......!! The video can be seen on our (video footage) page. POST will conduct another Investigation of this property soon, only next time Pam will be present during the Investigation. We feel its possible her company could trigger a little more activity if her late husband is still somehow attached.

POST Investigated the claims of Paranormal activity in a small building located in downtown Bakersfield Ca. The old building was built sometime in the 1930’s & is now home to Hopes clothing store. Claims of people talking & voices have been reported to come from the basement, when no one is down there. The feeling of being watched & an uneasiness have also been felt in that location of the building. Sounds of boots or footsteps have been heard on the old original wood floor that’s located on the right side of the building. The motion sensor located in front of the store has reportedly chimed as if someone walked in the front door. Upon checking to see who has entered the store the owners & employees where shocked to see no one around. I am told this occurrence takes place almost every day & sometimes more then once a day. On several occasions the hats on display, hanging off the wall have been found laying on the floor when the store is opened up in the morning. One morning in particular all the hats hanging on the wall (except for one row), where found mysteriously laying on the floor. No one can account for or explain these peculiar events.
In October of 2010 POST set out to find some answers or evidence to support these claims. We set up the DVR & several IR cameras, as well as a few of our own motion sensors. Two full-spectrum camcorders & one full-spectrum digital still camera was also utilized. Two ambient temperature gauges, two EMF gauges & one high quality audio recorder was used. The PX box (which is an experimental device) was placed in the back room of the shop. The PX box works by picking up environmental changes & then forms speech or words, which is then audibly heard through an on board speaker. The back room had no EMF emitting that would interfere with this device. Our newest piece of equipment a green laser grid was placed in front of one of our IR cameras. This laser emit’s multiple beams of light that covers an entire room. The theory behind this is - any disturbance that breaks the beams can be tracked as it moves across the room….
We started our Investigation in the basement area, we expected to find high EMF readings in this location (due to the uneasiness people feel there) but to our surprise the basement had normal readings - no EMF. The team did not feel any uneasiness or hear any talking while in the basement, no anomaly’s were caught on video or audio in this area. However two team members did hear what sounded like footsteps on the wood floor, coming from the empty store above. As we left the basement Ryan was the last one out & had to turn around to look behind him because the feeling of someone following him was very strong, of course no one was behind him! Later on that evening Jason also had the same feeling of being followed, while leaving the basement. We continued our Investigation through out the store. At about 10:00 pm one of our motion sensors covering the old wood floor was triggered. Nothing was caught on camera that could explain this event. A short time after that EMF spikes were picked up by one of our gauges, & the PX box started to speak. The PX mainly repeated several words which were “outside”, “disaster” & “country”. One other note worth mentioning was, when Jason was in the back of the store he asked Ryan & Tony (guest Investigator) if they had whispered? Both replied “no”. Upon reviewing the audio clip a very faint noise is heard seconds before Jason asked his question. However the audio clip is inconclusive & the noise can not be called an EVP. This location will possibly take a few more visits before we can come to any final conclusions. As for now the claims are unfounded……but stay tuned for a follow up Investigation.

Famousfor it’s botanical gardens , The Mourning Cloak Ranch is a very specialplace where over 20 beautiful rolling acres have been transformed intoan international botanical paradise . Over 2,200 different types ofplant species from all over the world exist on this ranch. In additionto being famous for it’s gardens , The Ranch is also built on thehistorical site called Williamsburg (a town predating the City ofTehachapi ). The original Owners Ed & Merian Sampson literallydevoted 100 % of their time and energy into transforming their acreageinto a bird haven and a learning center for all those who had aninterest in the origin of plants . Ed & Merian have long beenpassed on , but there are tell tale signs that they have not left theirprize possession ; The Mourning Cloak Ranch .

Throughout theyears many People have experienced paranormal activity at the ranch,one of the biggest claims are that of a Ghostly Woman wearing a whitedress . This Ghostly apparition has been seen gardening and wonderingthe property . Another claim is that there are ‘’sphere shaped lights’’dashing around the garden area’s . Also, the site in which MourningCloak Ranch is built on , is rumored to be sacred Indian territory . Itis be-leaved there is an Indian burial ground on the property and it isbelieved that Indians use to practice magic on the property . Asidefrom all of this , the current owner (Caroline ) has been ‘’helpedout’’ from time to time by an unknown source . One incident inparticular took place when She became very ill , for three daysCaroline was unable to make it out to the gardens to do the dailywatering . However , upon Her arrival at the gardens , She found that’’someone’’ had taken care of the watering for her . To this date, Sheis unsure who to thank for this kind act . Caroline feels that there isa kind , and positive presence that dwells on the property , lookingout after the landscape and producing a peaceful serene atmosphere .

P.O.S.T arrived at The Ranch about 8 pm on a warm August night. We briefly went over some of the claims and went to work . Thislocation was very different from any of our previous Investigations,because all of the paranormal encounters have been experienced outside. Due to certain restrictions , we limited our equipment to hand heldIR & full spectrum cameras and camcorders . We utilized our digitalEMF gauge, a PX box , one K2 meter , a digital temperature gauge and afew digital voice recorders . At one point during the investigation ,we were in route to one of the areas in which the Ghostly Woman hadbeen seen when Jason paused to draw our attention to a massive , verybeautiful old oak tree .

As Jason , Ryan , Rhonda and Istood in admiration of this tree , a vary strong, warm breeze flowedright through us .It should be noted that on this night it was calm& the wind was not blowing. At this same time , I received a pointone spike on the digital EMF gauge . I checked the temperature gauge& it registered at 71 degrees.

Moments later , thetemperature dropped & we all felt suddenly cold. I looked atthe temperature gauge again & it confirmed what we were feeling, itregistered at 69 degrees. I stated , ‘’you just came right through uscan you do that again ’’ ?

While reviewing our audio recordswe realized that we were not alone out there standing underneath thattree, we caught a clear EVP of a male Entity saying

" It’s gonna get real ……(???)………." . The last word spoken in His sentence is unclear

Before We go into detail about the investigation and evidence collected at The Rock Inn,

P.O.S.T would first like to give a big thank you to Warren ( the owner ) and His friendly staff Shawn ( bar tender ) , Jeff the Chef , Wendy (waitress ) , Ashley ( long time friend ) and all of the other Locals and Visitors that shared their paranormal encounters with us .Your help and participation played a vital role and is much appreciated .

The Rock Inn is centrally located between Antelope Valley and San Joaquin Valley , making it conveniently accessible . Nestled in a rural Lakefront town , half the fun would be in getting there as the beauty of the land creates a scenic adventure that the whole Family is sure to enjoy . In fact , The Rock Inn is best known as being the perfect pit stop. Motorcyclists have sort of claimed The Rock as their Home on the road , they jump on their bikes and make The Rock Inn their point of destination . There , all travelers alike enjoy great food , great service and wonderful entertainment . It is said that on the weekends ,The Rock Inn is the hottest spot in town . To top it off , once you’ve had your fill of good food , good friends and good entertainment , you can rent one of the hotel rooms upstairs . It is the perfect get away and if you’re ever in the area , a stop at The Rock Inn is a must .

For the more curious Guests’ who are looking for a paranormal experience ,you are likely to encounter a few head scratching , mind bending , hair raising thrills . Because you guessed it , The Rock Inn is also known for it’s Ghosts . Employee’s and Guests alike have each had their own personal paranormal experience . One of the biggest claims is that after hours , when the Guests have all gone home and the doors are well locked , there are sounds such as footsteps and People talking that suggest there are People still inside the Inn after closing . Every time this encounter takes place , the worried Inn Keeper searches for the source of these voices and noises but nothing ever turns up . The second biggest claim is that the swinging saloon doors suddenly swing open . Numerous People have observed this and no logical explanation can be found . The most memorable encounter took place in the dinning area , late one night a few Friends were sitting around one of the tables , having some laughs , enjoying dinner and a beer . When all of the sudden the front door ( made of solid wood & very heavy ) swung wide open , a few seconds passed and the door slammed shut . In the silence the shocked Guests were then really freaked out when moments later , the jukebox turned on all by itself !!!

If that’s not enough to convince you that The Rock Inn is haunted then perhaps these few other claims will . In the upstairs region , a full bodied apparition of a Ghostly man has been seen , lurking in the hallway. In room six , the already made bed has some how unmade itself and in room four the Guests have been known to up and leave and never return after a bumpy night . Apparently the bed shakes with no reasonable explanation and an overall uneasy feeling accompanies the noises and voices from beyond . Also , one of the Employee’s told us that at around 3 am , the place becomes alive with an eerie feeling .At this time all sorts of different noises can be heard , noises that come out of no where and seem to lead to no where .

In August of 2010 P.O.S.T went in, listened to the claims of the many People and set up shop. We began our investigation downstairs in the bar/restaurant area. We were accompanied by Shawn (the bar tender) ,Jeff the Chef and Ashley (longtime friend and ex employee ) .Base readings on the EMF (electromagnetic field) were mild to normal &were emitting from every electrical socket and the beer lights . A class ‘’c’’ EVP was caught in the back storage area . Again , this is a class ‘’c’’ EVP and it cannot be determined what is being said .However it seemed to be a direct response to something that Jeff said ,which was ‘’ whatever is here , is not harmful ’’. The most questionable piece of evidence was captured in the bar/restaurant area. A series of four still shot full spectrum pictures were taken , in two of the pictures a dark shadowy mass is seen moving across the room.At the time these photos were taken , all of the people that we represent that night were in the far left side of the bar and no where near the area in which this mass was captured .

After a while , Shawn , Ashley and Jeff went home , locking the three members of P.O.S.T inside the second story hotel . From here We thoroughly swept through every room , including the lobby. The equipment we used ranged from full spectrum camera’s and camcorders , 4 stationary IR cameras, digital EMF detector , a K2 meter , PX box , temperature gauges and 3 digital audio recorders . We investigated until 3 am , so that we could validate the claim made by an Employee that says the place comes alive with vibe and noises at or around 3 am . Much to our surprise , at 3 am exactly , a big bang was heard and then a few minutes later it was heard again and again . We could not determine where this noise was coming from . We checked outside , no one was around and we were the only people inside at this time . A few class‘’c’’ EVP’S were captured but what exactly is being said is very unclear . It does seem to be a response to something that I asked which was ‘’Is there anyone else in this room right now’’ ? In turn , the Spirit responds with what sounds like ‘’ excuse me‘’. Immediately after this EVP , we noted a point 1.0 spike on the digital EMF detector. This took place in room 7 where the base reading of EMF was a steady 0.0 mg. In all of the other EVP’S captured , it is very unclear what the Spirit is saying, however the point that most important is that there was indeed a Spirit and He/She was trying to make contact and communicate with us .

Because we enjoyed every aspect of The Rock Inn , the local Tehachapi Loop News Paper has agreed to write an article about the fabulous Rock Inn and all of it’s wonderful amenities . This investigation took place in July of 2010 in the Lake Isabella vicinity . The property is located near Split-Mountain , a Canyon in which is said to be sacred Indian land. Apparently there are hieroglyphs that illustrate the lives of Indians that had once claimed the land . I must admit that the area has a majestic feeling to it . While I stood on the edge of the mountain looking down into the split of the canyon , I got a sense of euphoria. The mountain seemed to be drawing me in and my balance was a bit off. It was a positive and refreshing experience .

P.O.S.T was called after the home owner ( Stefania ) had been through several Paranormal encounters . One of Her claims consist of a full bodied apparition .

It took place in late fall around 7 pm ,Stefania was sitting in Her living room when She looked felt a strong presence as if Someone was watching her intensely . She peeked Her eyes up from the book and witnessed a Ghostly Male figure , standing in her dinning room area watching Her . She recounts the anguished look on His face and She vividly remembers the clothing that He wore . Also , this Ghostly Man was not American Indian , and boar the characteristics of a white man . On separate accounts , Stefania has felt this Mans presence throughout different areas of Her home .

Another strange episode happened in November of 2009. Stefania was having electrical problems with the lights in Her loft ( Please note that in order to enter the loft , you must climb up a ladder) . So She called out an Electrician to fix the problem . For some odd reason or another , the Electricians professional ladder started to slide from underneath of Her and She fell backwards from the loft ; severely breaking Her left foot . A little while later (using a different later in the same spot ) the Electrician began to climb His way up to the loft when again the later began to slip . Had Stefania not jumped up and into action the same injury ( if not worse ) would have been inflicted on the Electrician as well . He then swore to Stefania that Her house was haunted and that Her house hated Him!!

The lights were eventually fixed however the Electrician made mention that He had a difficult time in doing so .One month later , the lights went out again . After an extended absence , Stefania arrived home around1:00 am to find the lights on and in perfect working condition! However , one month later these lights went out and they have remained out to this current day . The Electrician refuses to come back to fix the problem .

To add insult to injury , Stefania noticed that ever since She has resided on that property , She seemed to be having a streak of ‘’bad luck’’ .

First She shattered Her left foot , then on the day She was due to see the Doctor , a bomb threat was delivered to the clinic . Oddly enough , the threat was received at the exact time She was scheduled to come in … The most frightening encounter of all was when Someone or Something cut the bolt of Her right front wheel (disabling the breaks) causing Her to lose control of Her vehicle .Stefania feels that this incident in and of it’s self could have easily turned fatal . After all of this She was nearly sent to the hospital after receiving multiple toxic bites from a bloodsucking insect known as Triatoma . In Mexico , a single bite from one of these blood suckers can lead to Chagas disease and is often deadly . Serious reactions such as swelling of the bronchi and lungs are associated with the bites of these bloodsuckers . Unfortunately it doesn’t stop here ! Stefania suffered with occasional nightmares and other sleep disturbances . To this date , She cannot find a logical explanation for the loud bumps in the night . The sound of something heavy , bouncing to the floor awoke Her out of a dead sleep one night . When She got up to investigate this noise , She found Her onyx vase ( very heavy ) had been toppled to the floor .

Stefania notes that there is no explanation for this because there where no earthquakes at the time , no animals in the house , and the vase was in a protected position which would make it very difficult for it to be knocked over by any force .

In all of this , Stefania has maintained a positive and healthy mentality and She refuses to allow any negative forces to have an impact on Her thoughts . However the question still remains , Are there ‘’forces’’ at work here? Or , is all of this by chance ? Although Stefania had several unfortunate mishaps since She had lived on the property , She also had many pleasant and celebrated events too . The Wild Animals of the land would come and mingle with Her , some would eat from Her hand and Some would jump up onto the table where She was eating Her lunch and try to eat from the same bowl !!! The Animals seemed to naturally gravitate to Her and Her home . This makes me wonder what kind of a Spirit would dwell in such a peaceful and serene land , yet cause nothing but strife and inflict pain on an Individual ?

When P.O.S.T arrived at Stefania’s home , we listened to Her claims, got a general feel for the place ,scoped out the hot spots and went to work . We set up our usual necessary equipment which ranged from modified full spectrum cameras ,digital audio recorders , EMF gauges , temperature gauges , and a PX-box . We swept through The entire two story home , leaving no space uninvestigated . After a thorough inspection , we began reviewing all the data collected . What we were able to present to our Client was two‘’class B’’ EVP’s … In which they were both captured in the living room where Stefania had witnessed the full bodied apparition of a Man . The voices captured on our digital audio recorders were that of a Male with a deep voice whom elaborated on ‘’ My People’’. In fact , those were His words exactly !!! In this EVP , the Spirit says a few words just before ’’my people’’ is audible .This EVP was extremely clear , spoken in English language and notable to the fact that He seemed to be responding to something I said seconds earlier . What I had said was ’’ this is Stefania's home’’. I guess My comment really struck a nerve. The second EVP was again the same male voice with a deep tone . Being a ‘’class B ‘’ EVP , what exactly the Spirit says is unclear . He says something to the effect that ‘’you’re dead’’ or something concerning ‘’ The dead’’ .Who or what He was referring to is unknown ? This EVP was actually a response to something I asked , what I asked was ‘’are you dead or are you alive , are you good or are you bad’’ ? In this case , because of the responses that the Spirit gave , I’m almost positive that this is an intelligent Entity with an agenda !!!

A Native American Spirit , in a serene , majestic land causing ill intent to a living soul ? Possibly …Could it be that the Spirit is very upset with Stefania for reclaiming the land in which She calls home . Or perhaps the Spirit was upset because of the soil that had been turned during construction of the home or landscaping . All of these scenarios are possible when dealing with Native American Spirits and their sacred land . But I remind you of this , the Spirit that Stefania witnessed in her dinning room was not an American Indian , it was a white male. Although we don’t really know who it was that we heard from on the night of the investigation , I think that there are two separate Entities in this home . One being native to the land , producing the majestic , peaceful and serene feeling and the ’’other Spirit’’ being from another origin completely separate from the issues concerning the land .

This "other Spirit" is the one that She saw in Her dinning room , standing there , gazing at her with an unpleasant gleam in His eyes . I believe that this Entity is to be blamed for all of the bizarre , unhappy and disharmonious events .

On this night , an experimental conversation between us ( the living ) and our PX box took place . When we asked ‘’ who are you , what do you want’’ ? The PX box responded with ‘’ Have right , have business’’ . The PX box also mentioned Africa on several accounts . This is strange because Stefania has four objects in which derived from Africa and were given to Her as a gift from two Men ( one being an in-law and the other being one of Her Clients) . They both turned out to be very malevolent and negative People . Oddly enough , they both lives in S.Africa !!! Stefania accepted the gifts , yet the two fertility plates had always kind of scared Her , in fact they kind of freaked Her out and She keeps them in storage . Another fact is that this Client still owes Her a great deal of money. Could this ’’other Spirit’’ have some sort of connection with these African pieces and the malevolent Men from Africa ? I am almost certain that who ever this ’’other Spirit ’’ is , He comes and go’s and He hides in the shadows, like a coward , not wanting to be exposed. This is why P.O.S.T will conduct a second investigation .

   The Old Washoe Club (WC) is currently one of the oldest standing structures in Virginia City . It dates back to the mid 1800’s when silver and gold mining was at it’s peak. Many Prospectors gained mass fortune from the mines in Virginia City . These wealthy Prospectors pitched in a portion of their wealth to create a dwelling in which only millionaires and members could take part in. The Old Washoe Club was a more prominent establishment that reserved only the finest . In order to become a member , you had to be a millionaire to experience what the Club had to offer . Once you became a member , you could enjoy the finest cuts of tobacco , authentic whiskey , high dollar Ladies of the night , a grand ball room , poker & pool rooms , over night suites and offices for those conducting business transactions . Because the Club limited it’s amenities to members & millionaires only , the common drunken brawlers and rowdy Cowboys that could be found in regular corner bars , were not a threat ; leaving Members of the WC with a sense of ease in knowing that the typical savage barroom behavior would not be taking place in or amongst their luxurious enterprise .
   Unfortunately there was one bad seed amongst them and it has long been rumored that this Member murdered one of the Prostitutes by slicing her throat . His name has not been recorded and very little documentation is found concerning this matter . However Folks have eye witnessed a Ghostly apparition of a ’’Lady in blue’’ . It is speculated that this Lady in blue is the Spirit of the prostitute whom had her throat sliced by one of the W Members . Also , there is an unconfirmed story that tells of a depressed Young Man who committed suicide by pill overdose and one confirmed case in which a Young Man died in His room of natural causes . Other paranormal claims have been reported and consist of a Male apparition mingling around various places in the Club , an apparition of a small child in the area of the spiral staircase , and strange occurrences of different kinds have been signified . Many Paranormal Investigators including P.O.S.T , have been fortunate enough to explore these fascinating phenomenon’s . Throughout the years , Paranormal Investigators have been able to successfully produce hard proof evidence of Ghostly activity at The Old Washoe Club .
   After learning the unique history and a quick tour of the Club ; it was obvious that P.O.S.T was in for a long night . There are many rooms in which most of them have reports of activity . We set up as usual , with one DVR and 4 IR (infrared) cameras , we utilized two hand held full spectrum cameras , multiple digital audio recorders , two EMF gauges , several motion detectors, one full spectrum photo camera and various tools used to detect paranormal activity . With the cameras in place and recording our every move , we spent most of the night conducting EVP sessions and looking into the claims made by many . In all of this , we came out with one EVP and several personal experiences . The EVP was captured in the room belonging to the Young Man who expired of natural causes . This was also the room where Jason heard someone or something rushing up the stairs . In this EVP a faint , yet very clear ‘’hello’’ was spoken as I was inquiring about the condition of the deceased Young Man . The EVP was not heard on the camcorders audio , but it was picked up on our high quality audio recorder .
One personal experience took place in the grand ball room during the last part of our investigation when We were putting away our equipment . I was bent down trying to detangle camera cords when I was physically touched by an unseen force . It startled me because number one Ryan and Jason were positioned in front of me ; making it impossible for them to be the culprit And number two there was no reasonable explanation for this incident . I took a few second s to gain my composure and went back to my duty . Shortly after that , Ryan was in the room just next to me where I was touched , this room was open and Ryan and I were in perfect view of one another . We were both busy putting away equipment when Ryan’s attention was drawn toward some noises coming from the corner of the room . Seeing that Ryan was in awe of something , I rushed over to Him where we both heard movement of wood , nails and different articles of debris left on the floor . Ryan put His flashlight exactly on the spot where we witnessed the pile of ruble being shoveled around by an invisible source . At this time , most of our equipment was already broke down and put away . If not for the time limitation that we were placed under , we would have investigated into the early morning hours . In any event , it was a great experience and one that we at P.O.S.T would love to do again ….

Gold Hill , Nevada

   The Gold Hill Hotel (GHH) in Gold Hill Nevada is one of the first and oldest hotels in it’s area ; dating back to 1862 when the first foundation was laid. It is situated amongst many mines where a wealth of silver created a boom in Virginia City (Gold Hill‘s Sister City).The GHH boasts beautifully preserved architecture , history , affordable rooms , great food and wonderful entertainment of different splendor . Around back from the hotel sits a small tin building which was once the lodge for the Miners of Yellow Jacket Mine. The mine itself sits directly behind the lodge , sealed off and gloomed with the memory of a terrible disaster that claimed the lives of over 35 Miners .

The year was 1875 , Miners of the Yellow Jacket Mine were in the process of shift change when a fire broke out at 800 feet within the mine . Even though the casualties reached a whopping 35 ; there could have been many more if not for the shift change . Survivors described a horrific scene of Fellow Miners desperately fighting for their lives . Tragically , of the 35 Miners that perished ; only of a few bodies were found . The fire quickly spread to neighboring mines , threatening the lives of many . In an effort to contain the fire , workers sealed off and confined this huge blaze that smoldered for years after the initial ignition . Because of this unfortunate event , Ghost Hunters from all around have attempted to make contact with these Miners that are presumed to haunt the Lodge . Most of the Guests “including paranormal investigators’’ have been frightened into sleeping in their cars instead of sleeping in the rooms in the lodge ! However the claims of paranormal activity don’t stop here . Apparently rooms #4 and #5 of the GHH are haunted as well. Guests , Employees and Spectators have each had their own paranormal encounter . These encounters include witnessing full bodied apparitions , hearing voices, beds shaking erratically during the early morning hours, and a feeling of misery or heart ache has accompanied the manifestations of Ghosts .
All of these claims have not been documented and there is very little hard proof evidence to deem it officially haunted.

   P.O.S.T stayed three nights at the GHH , on the first night we stayed and investigated rooms 4 & 5 ; in an attempted to solidify the paranormal claims .
The second and third nights were spent in the Yellow Jacket Miners Lodge. In all, P.O.S.T had over 16 hours of video footage and audio recordings .
In both rooms 4 & 5 there was a sort of “fun house effect’’ , this is due to the aged structure and possibly because of a sinking foundation which makes the floors uneven in different areas. And so when one walks across the floor , there is sort of a woozy feeling and it sets off a Persons balance .This could contribute to the ‘’uneasy’’ feeling that has been associated with paranormal claims .

The claims in room # 5 are that of the bed shaking in the early morning hours .
However we noticed that in the spot where the bed was positioned , the floor was again uneven. Also , when someone walked across the floor , flushed the toilet and got into bed in room #4 (just next door) , the motions could be felt in room # 5 . This includes the bed . P.O.S.T spent a good deal of time walking the hallways , flushing the toilets, jumping into the bed located next door in room # 4 . All of this recreated a violent shaking of the bed in room 5 and in short ; we were able to recreate the claim, thus , debunking it. We noted no unusual or high levels of EMF (electromagnetic field) , the temperature remained steady throughout the entire investigation. And unfortunately, no personal experiences were noted . The audio recordings turned up with no EVP’S (electronic voice phenomenon) . Because we were unable to document or add validation to the many claims made by Honest People , we still do not want to discredit or make light of their personal encounters , it just so happened that we were unable to produce substantial evidence backing their claims .

   The next two nights were spent in the Yellow Jacket Miners Lodge (situated behind the main hotel) . With a camera in every room , including a full spectrum digital still camera , full spectrum video camera , 4 IR (infrared) stationary cameras , audio recorders left running in various areas ,as well as motion sensors ,a PX box , two EMF detectors and a digital temperature gauge ; P.O.S.T had the place well covered . We spent hours conducting EVP sessions , asking the Entity(s) to move something or give a sign their presence . At one point , while conducting an EVP sessions in the living room , I strapped a small Spirit bell around my finger , held out my hand in the air letting the bell dangle free . I asked the Spirit to touch , move or ring the bell . Stunningly , the bell slipped about a half inch down my finger . Another bizarre detail took place when the three members of P.O.S.T decided to take a break and head over to the store for a late night snack . We left the four IR cameras and digital voice recorders running . Three minutes after we had locked the door behind us , something broke the beam and set off the motion detector . The beam, was at a waist high level, so we conclude that it couldn’t have been a mouse or rat running across the floor. When we reviewed the multiple camera recordings there was nothing out of the ordinary that was caught crossing the beam.
   The most memorable experiences occurred on both nights , both taking place around three o’clock in the morning . Jason awoken out of a slumber . He could hear people talking in the kitchen and thought it was Ryan & I . As He got out of bed and entered into the kitchen , He was shocked to find that no one was in there . On edge , Jason came into Our room where Ryan and I were both sound asleep , He woke us up and told us about what He had heard . As Jason left Our room , I heard a male Entity with a very ruff & malevolent voice call out my name . I was stunned ! We checked the outside , no one was near ! I did elaborate to Ryan about this incident and in the morning , Jason was explaining what he had heard and He & I both described hearing the same ruff , malevolent voice !
   At this time , our audio recorders were not running and so this occurrence remains a personal experience with no hard proof evidence to back it up. On the second night , Jason was again asleep in his bed when he was awoken to a big crash or boom sound , followed by a loud grown as if someone had just fallen or taken a blow . He thought that Ryan or I had fallen off the bed . He came into Our room to check on us and He found both Ryan and I sound asleep !
We also captured a very strange orb like sphere in the view of one of our IR (infrared ) cameras . We at P.O.S.T are not typically wowed or amused by orbs as they almost always tend to be lens flairs or dust particles that are illuminated by some sort of light near by or dust kicked up from general motion or wind.
However this Orb is distinct and nothing like I have ever seen before . It almost appears to be a bubble . You will have to see it for yourself to critique . It did make me wonder if this orb was what had set off the motion detector . it’s a good possibility . However nothing turned up in recordings at the time that the motion sensor went off …. In any event , We enjoyed our stay at the Gold Hill Hotel and plans are in the making for a second investigation .

The Silver City Historic ghost town located in Bodfish Ca. near lake Isabella, was a total step back in time. The old buildings were many & the feeling of the old west was evident. After we set up our DVR with a few IR cameras, POST started the Investigation in what is believed to be the oldest building, called the Burlando house. For the Investigation we used a couple EMF gauges & an ambient temperature gauge, as well as an IR video camera & a full spectrum video camera. We took over nine hundred still pictures with a full spectrum camera & of course several digital voice recorders were utilized as well. The next stop was the old jail house. We spent a good amount of time in this building as it was the only location with that “weird vibe” to it. We also checked out the “wormy Annie” house & the old church building which had a cool bell that still rang out when the rope was pulled. We spent a little time in the front store which has a lot of old artifacts for sell. The store building has had some reported activity of lights turning off & on and some objects that report ably moved on there own. All & all it was a fun & exiting Investigation but we were not able to document any type of Paranormal activity or support any of the claims that have been made. This conclusion could have been due to the fact that we were limited in time during the investigation & the heavy winds that contaminated our audio recorders. Another Investigation of this Ghost Town is very possible in the near future. In closing , if you have any interest in stepping back in time to view what the old towns of yester year were like, this is one place you should visit. Many thanks to J.    Before I go into detail about the investigation and the evidence collected , let me first acknowledge that The Hotel Leger is a fantastic place that One should make an extreme attempt to visit . Located in Mokelumne Hill California , The Hotel Leger is settled around lush green foothills and a multiple array of beauty. Including The Hotel Ledger , the Town in and of itself is rich with history and precious heirlooms from the past . This serene little Town is proud fully preserved and boasts long time vintage establishments , antiquity and Hospitality . An adventure to Mokelumne Hill provides a unique experience for the whole Family . The list of things to do range from gold panning , golfing , kayaking ,antiquing ,free roam of the country side to bike ride , hike , fish , site see and more . Or perhaps you might enjoy a tour of one of the many Wineries . However , if you are in search of a paranormal experience , then I recommend staying at The Hotel Ledger.   Not only will you be greeted with a warm welcome , but you will also have the opportunity to mingle with the Ghosts that reside within The Hotel Ledger.

   P.O.S.T arrived at the historic Ledger on a chilly January day, 2010 . We were given a tour of the Hotel and we listened to the claims of paranormal activity . Many reports have been made of a Woman crying in room #2 . This Woman is thought to be the Wife of George Ledger ( the original owner ) whom apparently died in the Hotel during the birth of Her third Child . Another claim is of a Young Child playing near the fire place in room #3. Although there are many other claims that have been made , P.O.S.T was able to confirm only these two allegations .
   We swept through 13 rooms , one large billiard room , the old Calaveras County Court House (which is now apart of the Ledger) and the wine cellar (which was originally used as the Calaveras County Jail). We captured a few different EVP’s while investigating in the wine cellar ; all of them are class ’’B’’ EVP’s in which We could not 100% determine what was being said . During the investigation in the wine cellar , we were made aware of the presence of another Person in or near the building. We all thought it was strange because We were under the assumption that there were no other Guests or Employees in the Ledger at this time of the investigation .We could hear this Person watching TV and going about their business in their quarters, so Jason, Ryan and I wanted to find out who this Person was so that we did not mistake their presence as paranormal activity and run the risk of contaminating our evidence . We went in search of the source and location of these noises and as soon as We walked out the front door , our motion detector (which was set up in the old Court House) chimed !!! We were all pretty shocked because as I said before , there were no other Guests or Employees in the Hotel . So what or Who broke the beam on the motion detector is still unknown because our cameras did not pick up anything unusual at the time of this event. However we did capture a class “B” EVP in this area which we could not make out but sounds like some kind of heavy whisper attempting to say something. We do know that it is not one of the team members..! We later found out that there is Someone occupying a room on the side of The Hotel Ledger in which ; this room and the Ledger share a dividing wall. This occupant remained in their dwelling during the entire investigation , so we know that this Person could not have contaminated our evidence.

   Another claim that We were able to confirm was that of the Young Child existing near the fire place in room #3. Jason , Ryan and I spent a good deal of time interacting with the Entity through the use of an EMF meter . We placed the meter, along with a small flash light on the floor in front of the fire place and then We encouraged the Entity to pick up the flash light , turn it on or simply move it from it’s spot. Each time We would request this of the Entity , the EMF meter would spike . We also caught an EVP in this room that seems to say “Yes” in response to Jason’s question, which was “is there someone here with us”.

   This next piece of evidence is more of a personal experience that Ryan and I were fortunate enough to hear . It was 3:59 am , We had rapped up the investigation and locked up all the equipment. We were resting in the bed of room #6, When We heard a Woman weeping and crying out in the hallway. The cry sounded like a mournful , painful wail . Her cry was heart breaking , it had a very sad and agonizing feel to it .
Could this have been the Ghost of Mary Ledger , whom passed away after giving birth to Her third Child ? We were not able to document this sound , so it remains a personal experience, Regardless We feel that She inhabits The Hotel Ledger and for some reason she remains with it .

I feel a sense of obligation to this Spirit because I could feel the desperation and sadness in Her cry .
I would like to go back to the Ledger to bring relief to this Spirit in morning . Perhaps We could help Her cross over into the light where there is liberation from Her repetitive sorrow .

POST investigated a home in the Rosedale area . POST was called in because the Clients 3 year old Daughter would awake in the early morning hours (usually around 3 am ) very frightened and She would not go back to sleep in Her bedroom . On one occasion the Mother and the Father were listening to the baby monitor and overheard their Daughter talking to someone , however there was no one else in the area . POST set up all of basic and usual equipment in hopes to find out who or what their Daughter was talking to and why. As well as why she wakes up in the early morning hours frightened . We spent a few hours snapping pictures ,taking video and trying to draw out any Spirits that were within this dwelling. After reviewing all of the evidence, we found no signs of paranormal activity that could validate the Clients claims .

Butterfly Cafe

The Butterfly Cafe - Investigation Report

October 2009, P.O.S.T had the pleasure of Investigating the butterfly café. This wonderful little café is located in mariposa ca., Once a thriving mining town . Most of the brick buildings on the main street remind us of an era long past. The outside eating area (located in the back) is filled with plants & flowers & has a very peaceful feeling about it. With a seasonal creak running right behind the café, the atmosphere here is,… Inviting!

Some of the claims of paranormal activity are located in what the owners call the dungeon. This space is under the building it self, almost like a basement. Employees have claimed the feelings of being watched & an overall uneasiness while down there. The owner has witnessed a shadow person in the front area of the café & several doors have opened & closed by them selves. Also several bags of bread has been reported to fly out of a basket, one striking the owner in the back.

Ryan, Jason & Mike started this Investigation off with an EMF sweep of the building. The area called the dungeon was filled with high EM readings emitting from electrical boxes, power lines & galvanized piping that ran overhead. This area was also located directly under the kitchen. We made our way to the kitchen area & discovered that high EM readings were also present there. The EM field emitted from the floor & from numerous appliances within the kitchen itself. There were also high EMF readings noted in the back of the café next to the restroom., emitting from the walls of the building.

The team set up four IR cameras in various locations around the café. We utilized 2 full spectrum camcorders & 1 full spectrum digital camera, as well as several audio recorders (digital & tape). We also used 2 ambient temperature gages. We noted no cold spots or any sudden change in the temperature readings. After reviewing all the data collected we did not find any evidence of paranormal activity.
POST can not, at this time, justifiably say this location is haunted. The claims from employees & owners, still stand as personal experiences, but one must also consider the effects of high EM fields, especially when exposed to them for extended periods of time!

We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere & the Investigation, the coffee was hot & the food was great. So if you are in the area of Yosemite, stop by & grab a bite to eat…..Tell them POST sent you!

P.O.S.T.was contacted by a very concerned Aunt (Korie) because Her Brother(Jason & Sister In Law Amy) had some suspicious paranormal activity occurring in their home . Korie explained that Her four year old nephew(Seth) was very afraid to walk down the hallway in this home because He was frightened by a Scary Man that wore a black hat and had a scary mouth. Also ,the Entity has been reported running around Seth’s bedroom at night and watching His two year old Sister while She lay sleeping in Her crib. The Clients have also captured an EVP and a dark mass apparition in their back yard using a cell phone video . In this video, the Mother (Amy) and Her youngest child were relaxing on the back porch when a male voice calls out for Seth ; three times . A dark mass apparition is seen in the corner as it moves into view and then it quickly moves out .

  On a separate occasion , Amy’s Mother witnessed a female Spirit wearing a brown jumper suit walk down the hallway and into the family room where it vanished into thin air . Amy’s Mother believes that this Entity was the Spirit of Her Sister whom had passed away years earlier.

   In September 2009, Ryan, Mandy, and Guest Investigator Leslie Sought out to solidify these paranormal claims . Upon entering the home , there was a notable amount of negative energy that was lingering there . We set up all of our equipment and worked our way through the entire house within a five hour time span. A few personal experiences were documented and consist of chills or cold spots , a motion detected baby toy went off by itself after we asked for a sign of the Entity’s presence, and our battery pack for one of the IR/UV camcorders was detached and left dangling from the camera . We did the usual investigation and swept through the dwelling thoroughly. Afterwords Leslie and I cleansed the home with a Native American tradition using sage and cedar dust at the four corners and a Christian tradition of prayer . During the cleansing there was an unusual euphoric sensation in some areas of the home.

  P.O.S.T. did a follow up a few days later to find out if the activity had died down or if it had worsened . Amy reported that She was having nightmares about this Scary Man . Seth was sleeping in His bedroom with no problems . I believe that Amy’s nightmares were due to Her fears concerning the whole situation . I also believe that Leslie and I were successful in cleansing the home . Another follow up will determine if anymore action will need to take place ; so a second investigation could very well be in the mix .
